JPS Dance Youth Dance Company Audition
*** Age: 12 to 16 years old
*** Ideal candidate shall possess basic dance skills and techniques, be formerly trained in any style of dances,
be flexible and supple, have good muscle strength and good vertical jump, and exhibit excellent motor skills;
***Ideal candidates shall be passionate about dance, be perseverant, be willing to work hard, have certain
stage experience, and have good artistic expressiveness.
*** Once admitted to dance company, the candidate shall attend designated dance courses and rehearsals in
a timely fashion; the candidate shall commit to represent the school in dance competitions and performing events
for the next school year.
JPS Dance Youth Dance Group Annual Assessment
The annual audition of JPS youth dance company and preparatory classes is one of the major events of JPS Dance School. It is not only a comprehensive technical assessment, but also a wonderful opportunity to show case dance skills. The annual audition always attracts a large crowd of students and parents to observe and learn. In the spirit of openness and fairness, the audition is open to the public, and the whole process is video recorded. A panel of professional dance teachers will review and judge each student. The scoring criteria includes: flexibility, strength, skills and artistic expressiveness. Admission is strictly based on scoring and no preferential consideration will be given.
